With my family,
I went to Hampi. Its a beautiful place which used to be VijayaNagar
empire's capital. The town was founded in early fourteenth century.
There is an overnight train from Bangalore to Hospet and vice versa.
The reservations are relatively easily available. Hampi is less than
10 km. from Hospet. You should stay in Hampi for 2-3 days minimum
and hire a bicycle to wander around the serene and picturesque surroundings.
Main venues are Elephants' stable, The Queen's Palace, Main temple, Queen's
Bath, Underground temple, Chariot temple, Musical pillars, Irrigation system
etc. Also, there's Tungabhadra Dam nearby Hospet.
